Welcome travelers. Thank you once again for making this great journey. Last time we spoke, we followed your journey. From arriving in Dreva, to obtaining your first Pikamoon, and visiting the underground city of Drikta. Yet now you face off against the guards of Regent Urda, in your first Pikamoon battle…
Oh boy. I guess you’d better learn how to battle, and quickly! Luckily for you, we’re here to help. Don’t worry too much, because Urda has dismissed all his powerful guards for “conspiring against him” or something similar. There’s only a few weak lackeys to beat here.
When it comes to Pikamoon battles, there’s not too much to remember. As decreed by ancient battle masters, each shall take it in turns to launch an attack at the other. If you succeed at knocking out the opposing Pikamoon, the opponent may send out another. When one battler has no more Pikamoon, they have lost the match. The maximum number of Pikamoon allowed in each battle or tournament will be classified prior to competing.
For this fight, your foe only has one Pikamoon. This shouldn’t be an issue for one as skilled as yourself. Each turn, you’ll have the ability to choose from up to four moves. These moves each deal varying degrees of damage, but may come with conditions to use them. For instance, a weak attack won’t cost you anything, but a more powerful attack will injure your Pikamoon in the process. Some attacks trade power for accuracy, and vice versa.
Carefully considering the pros and cons of each move, and knowing when to hold back, and when to unleash your full strength, is key to winning a Pikamoon battle. Still, you should have no issue wiping the floor with the guard, and opening the path to the Regent.
Although terrified at first, the Regent is relieved to know you’re not here to hurt him. Urda agrees to share the information that he knows after you defeated their single Pikamoon in battle. Taking you into the depths of the throne room, he shows you a battered and damaged wall. Once, a prophecy was carved into this wall. Yet it was stolen by the Water Kingdom many years ago. All that remains is the name of the prophecy: “The Endless Darkness.”
And so, the adventure begins once more. Setting off with your companion, we depart from the underground cities and forested hills. Now, your destination lies in the south east. Walking along the sandy coastlines, you’ll need to take care on your journey. As previously said, these lands are dangerous. Outside of the four factions, who knows what you might find?
But press onward, and soon you’ll reach the Crystal Reflections. Here, beautiful shards of crystal float in the water. They shine like lights, guiding you to your destination. Entering the water alongside your companion, you’ll soon stumble upon the domed city of Vitae. Home of the Water Empress, the great and powerful Splendir.
Take some time to enjoy the underwater aquariums and water tubes, but you are still on a mission. Sure enough, Vitae is a much more welcoming city. An agent of the Empress will soon find you, requesting your presence in the throne room. Sure enough, sitting on a throne of water, Splendir welcomes you to the city.
Interestingly, she already knows why you’re here. She heard about your scuffle with the Earth Regent. She’s impressed, and she offers to give you the information that you seek. However, it won’t come free. Your skill in battle intrigues her. You managed to defeat a lowly guard… but how will you fare against the ruler of the Water Kingdoms?
She steps forth to do battle, and you must do the same. If you’re ever going to find out what’s happening to the people of Dreva, then you need to win.
